Aggravate the Ice Cream Man on Rainy Afternoons

I'm trying to be summery and sunny but I've resorted to taking selfies in my bedroom while it rains...
For all of you lucky people who don't reside in the predictable United Kingdom, you will not be aware of the disgusting turn of weather we have been having this week. Last Sunday, exactly 7 days ago, I was wearing a skirt with no tights and I assure you, absolutely no shivering occurred, because the weather was lovely. Now, in such a short space of time, London has become a flood- it has been raining for about 3 days straight.
(I am not pleased.)
But complaining is Britain's national sport, so if there was nothing to complain about: 1) All my small talk tips would go down the drain and 2) no one else would have anything to talk about either. So now with my rant behind me, I'll stop.
(But seriously, British people don't actually have conversations, we just rant at eachother.)

But the rain is relevant to this post because it has drastically forced me to change my wardrobe, my daily routine and my music taste.

1) Wardrobe

Once again my heavenly mohair camel Topshop coat (see below) can be unearthed from the cupboard, to be worn at all times over any outfit, indoors and out. (Pyjamas included)
It is my favourite thing ever and I got it in winter last year. It might not keep the rain out but we have hoodies and umbrellas for that, which I will happily pile on as well.
WELLIES. My favourite things ever, I can now get my pink wellington boots out again and although, yes, they make me look like a total moron, I don't care, I love it.
Also, beanies and huge jumpers are so cosy (see Kate Winslet rocking the orange hoodie below) -I have infinite jumpers that I've been guiltily buying throughout summer which I can't wait to wear.

2) Daily Routine

Now admittedly, this title^ sounds like a GCSE language writing essay, but basically all I mean is that instead of walking round London in a cheerful, springy mood and sitting outside in the grass and going to the park, I have now declined into a repetitive routine of getting home from school, making two teas, pocketing a packet of biscuits and skulking upstairs to my dark, cave-like bedroom where I will retreat under a duvet and start a new tv series on Netflix, disregarding my homework.
The happier side of Autumn means my favourite new tv seasons come out, the bugs all die, Halloween happens, and I can eat lots of toast and go camping with friends on the weekends. (Yes, we decide to go camping as soon as it gets cold.)

3)  Music

My music changes from Django Django, Girls, Beach House, Swim Deep, Grimes and The Beatles to Joy Division, Arctic Monkeys, Velvet Underground, The Smiths and all those types of bands, ya know.. Not exactly those precise bands but those kind of moods.
At the moment, since Monday when AM, the new Arctic Monkeys album came out (I think it's their best album so far by the way so go have a listen) I have listened to nothing else. It hasn't got old for me, even though I've listened to it every day about twice round at least. My favourite songs are Knee Socks, No 1 Party Anthem and Arabella.

LDN

Here it is. The end of summer. I'm back at school now but this is everything I did in my last week of holiday.. I went to Trafalgar Square with some friends one evening on the new modern/old buses where you can jump onto the back while it's moving, which is uber cool.. I also edited some photos from Italy that I took of water and clouds and cactuses, and took some outfit photos because I realised I haven't posted any for aaaages..
Then just before I started packing to go to France I remembered my school set me art homework so I has to do some pages in my sketchbook tres rapide, so I took photos of them too:

I'm still taking submissions for my zine so please contact me if you're interested?

☾ what the water gave me ☽

^Collected tumblr photos proving that turquoise water is the best thing ever.

When I went to Greece last year the sea was just like that and it was perfect and summery.. I used to watch loads of underwater documentaries when I was little because I love the sea, and anything to do with it. If anyone's ever been to London Zoo you might know that the aquarium used to have this massive tank at the end of it with one big shark swimming round in it, which was always my favourite bit of the zoo but they moved it to another zoo and I can remember being really sad about it..
Also when I was probably about 6 I went to the New Jersey (USA) aquarium there which is the best thing ever because it has a tunnel that you can walk through and see the fish above you..There's also one in a Sea Life aquarium in Helsinki, Finland which I forced my family to take me to when we went on holiday there.

The Little Mermaid was always my favourite film when I was younger
(we can all admit we would sell our souls for Ariel's hair)

strawberry fields forever

I've finally broken up from school, meaning I have 2 months to relax and forget everything I learned before the exams. I've started watching Skins and its so good, I definitely recommend. I don't have much to say seeing as I haven't gone away yet, but in a week I'll be going to Cornwall and then Italy and France later on which is exciting

I watched Donnie Darko a few months ago now, but after rewatching it I developed a massive girl crush on Gretchen Ross, the character who plays Donnie's girlfriend. She's so pretty and I love her although she has a hideous name- dem eyebrows guyss

I bought some Levi shorts from Rokit in Camden yesterday and theyre awesomee,
outfit of the day:
Tracey Emin top, Rokit shorts, Liberty/Nike airwalks and Brick Lane sunglasses
I really hope this will be a good summer, because it's my last proper holiday before all my GCSE's and other exams start next year which I can't even think about rn, so I'm going to go and sunbathe now, this is me and my awesome friend Tom yesterday:

Feeling Blue

Turkish tile design
Istanbul Harem wall
Stella McCartney S/S 2012
Florence Welch
My new summery outfit is based on my trip to Istanbul in Turkey last summer.  The denim top is from Topshop, the trousers are from a Turkish market and the shoes are a Liberty/Nike collaboration that I got from eBay. I love paisley in blue (it looks disgusting in brown/orange colours) and the geometric designs that are so popular in old Turkish design inspired me, as well as the Stella McCartney collection from last Spring/Summer.
