Airy Space Goddess Vibes

I'm not very happy right now because an online 'Which Mean Girls Character are you?' Quiz told me I was most like Gretchen Weiners. You can imagine what I'm feeling.

I know I'm like the millionth person to blog about it but the Chanel Couture SS14 collection is 'lyke totally amazing' omgg srsly its 2die4. I'm not usually one to talk about big designer collections, because they're barely on your radar when you're a broke 15 year old who would probably die from the horribly intimidating experience of even looking through a Chanel shop-window. 
So I will remain safe behind my laptop screen in my hideously unfashionable pyjamas, away from the glaring eyes of so-called (pls dont h8 4 using this word) 'fashionistas' 
(But you know what I mean: the type of snooty, perfectly presented fashion bloggers/desginers who probably wanted to hit Tavi Gevinson when she first went to Fashion Week, aged 14.)

Usually, runway make-up is totally unwearable in real life, it just looks pretty or dramatic on the catwalk, (let me remind you of Chanel SS14's paint splotches).
But however much hate I might get, I would srsly wear the 'silver under-eye look' that this collection displayed, because firstly, it's actually relatively simple to achieve when you have 0 make up skills, and also it looks super pretty without looking weird/over the top. Plus I can finally achieve snow queen/space goddess vibes. THANK U PETER PHILIPS. AND THANK U KARL.

The celestial, sea-anemone hair and the whole space-tech look is so beautiful, too, and it matched the feather crowns the models wore (ahem Cara). It made them look like pale glitter-angels. The delicacy of the shape and colours all looked so perfect together, while the black feathery pieces contrasted the white purity.
Also, I loved those tiny waisted two-piece-pastel-dress-things with the polo necks 
(r u all luving my technical fashun knowledge) and those beautiful sequined trainers, because they were pretty accessible as something I'd consider buying and wearing irl. 
(Maybe without all dem sequins but ygm) 

It all reminded me of ice and birds and snow flakes, because of the flowy, translucent sparkles on the cropped tops and skirts. Basically, I can't word how much I liked this collection because I am not a ---fashionista--- (Im gagging every time I say that word) and I can't describe the whole appearance and vibes but it's beautiful and lovely and would make me feel like a little radiant-pastel maiden if I had the luck to wear it.

In conclusion, what I wanted to ask u all is: pls can we start a fund where u can all send me lots of money and I can rock up to my next school PE sesh dressed like this? 

Just A Reflektor

Sorry I'm a bit late to the party here but just so you know I did write this in December. Almost every 'Top Albums of 2013' review that I've read has included Reflektor, Arcade Fire's new album. Need I say more. Clearly I do, because I'm going to write an entire blog post on why Arcade Fire are my top band of 2013 and now 2014, and why they're so great.

A few months ago, my school's Vinyl Society had a meeting about The Suburbs, Arcade Fire's 2nd most recent album, (and arguably their best)- I went along because it was the first CD I ever bought when I was 11 after I had read in a magazine that it was cool, but I never really got into it that much. 

When they showed The Suburbs music video which I had never seen before, and played Suburban War and Sprawl II, it gave me that feeling where you hear a song you haven't heard in a while and get a flashback of all the feelings you had when you heard that album first. And it was AMAZING. I became obsessed with the lyrics and structure of the album, how they repeat lyrics throughout it and show changing moods. I haven't really ever seen a band like them that does that. Arguably, they're really pretentious and arty but they do 'being arty' really well because it's not annoying and they actually produced something beautiful when they made The Suburbs.
(Especially the album artwork because of the grainy film-camera snapshots of cars in suburban landscapes and the pretty colours.)

Naturally I went on to buy Reflektor and read and watch as much about Arcade Fire as I could find on the internet, and listened to those two albums and not much else for the next 4 months or so.. 
I definitely prefer The Suburbs as a whole album, because it's what made me recognise Arcade Fire as the BEST THING EVER, but Reflektor isn't inferior, because they're so different that they're incomparable. I love Reflektor too, especially the music video and themes and new shiny sound that they've created. Their new 'look' is so great with those jazzy new suits they wear to all their concerts, and the Roman Coppola mini film of one of their sets with cameos from perfect people like Michael Cera and James Franco, they're doing pretty well right for themselves now..
The album artwork is also beautiful as my gif at the top will hopefully convey, because of the holographic material and the black and white contrast. In conclusion please listen to Arcade Fire. thx.

✧ Feeling Festive DIY ✧

FESTIVE MORRISSEY DECORATIONS - The obvious way forward, to achieve festive cheer this year. Get out the glitter and print off a picture, (I tinted them pink on my computer's photo editing software) and stick them round your house to add some Christmassy cheer. 

*cringe* lol but trust they look really cool espesh the glittery eyebrows. Obviously it doesn't have to be Morrissey but come on, I recently discovered he lived NOT TEN DOORS AWAY FROM ME towards the end of his life with the Smiths, how amazing is that? I went and stood outside his former home to gaze in awe at the windows he once looked through, the doorstep his lovely feet once stood upon ok I know this is creepy but he is someone to be adored, he encourages it. fun for all the family. 

Place your new favourite decoration on top of your Christmas tree because he's an angel. Much love ♡

OK WINONA RYDER APPRECIATION POST.

1) HER NAME omg what is that? Winona. Its such a pretty name and I WILL be calling one of my kids that. Also Ryder is one of my favourite surnames, espescially because it's linked to one of my favourite characters in literature: Charles Ryder from Brideshead Revisited.
2) FILMS
One of my favourite Winona films is Girl, Interrupted (1999) because it was the first film I saw her in and her acting is on top form guys. Also you get to see a lot more of her perf cheekbones because she has short hair. (lol) Despite the dark subject of mental wards and suicide I really liked it. Angelina Jolie (in my opinion) also plays one of her best roles in film here. Winona plays a mentally unstable, introverted girl who makes 'friends' with some girls in the same mental ward as her and I don't want to give anything away to those who havent seen it but its A***** If you have tumblr, you'll be very familiar with the stills from it bc tumblr seems to attract all that dark stuff..

Also, Heathers (1988) is one of my favourites, because of the contrast Winona plays, compared to her character in Girl, Interrupted. Her half-hearted attempt to be in the 'in-crowd' at school is great because it discredits the stereotype of a clique of dumb desperate girls ruling the school, that most high school films have. I sat down to watch this film expecting a chick flick, and I wont spoil it but IT IS ANYTHING BUT A GIRLY MOVIE SO DONT EXPECT ONE. Also the 80s fashion is top-notch and as always, Winona adds to the eye candy <3 <3

 3) LASTLY HER TREMENDOUS GOOD LOOKS
Ok Winona is my girl crush, she has quite an original look with her dark hair, dark eyes and pale complexion but I think she's perfect. She has quite an English Rose kind of look, and I can't wait to see her in more films.

swim deep oh bby

On Friday me and Rachel headed over to Shepherds Bush O2 to see SWIM DEEP AND WOLF ALICE LIVE with another supporting group called Sundara Karma who were great as well. We met some other people when we got there and then went inside but we were all furiously disappointed because they were not selling the beautiful Swim Deep merch socks which I have been on a quest to find for what seems like an age. 
But I had previously bleached those lovely SD waves into the back of my denim jacket which I wore with pride that night.
Anyway all the acts were amazing and although it was one of the most suffocating, squashed and boiling-hot gigs I've ever been to, it was so worth it. We got quite near the front so we could see all of them especially the golden glow of Zachary's glorious hair and they were all perfect and then it rained silver at the finale at the end when they played King City. It was lovely. And then it was over, and we all ran round the building to get to the stage door, where we met (what I mean is we kind of just screamed at them and panicked) ALL OF SWIM DEEP AND WOLF ALICE AND EVERYONE ELSE:

They were all so lovely to us ..especially Higgy (who is my new favourite SD member) who drew Rachel a picture and let us scream at him and take hundreds of pictures. He was very cool with us so muchos gracias to Higgy my fave <3

Sharing with The Lisbon Girls

In France during Summer, we stayed with a family who had rented an old house in a small French village surrounded by hills. These are some photos I took of my bedroom, with only a blue tint added. They remind me a lot of The Lisbon Girls' bedrooms in The Virgin Suicides, especially with all the small religious items and the lace and bare walls. It was quite creepy sleeping there on the first night because I had just finished reading the book (of The Virgin Suicides) and if you have seen or read it, you know it doesn't end very happily. But it was really pretty in the mornings when the light shone through the lace round the bed and the whole room was a really bright white, so here are my photos:

When I went to Greece last year the sea was just like that and it was perfect and summery.. I used to watch loads of underwater documentaries when I was little because I love the sea, and anything to do with it. If anyone's ever been to London Zoo you might know that the aquarium used to have this massive tank at the end of it with one big shark swimming round in it, which was always my favourite bit of the zoo but they moved it to another zoo and I can remember being really sad about it..
Also when I was probably about 6 I went to the New Jersey (USA) aquarium there which is the best thing ever because it has a tunnel that you can walk through and see the fish above you..There's also one in a Sea Life aquarium in Helsinki, Finland which I forced my family to take me to when we went on holiday there.

The Little Mermaid was always my favourite film when I was younger
