Isabella Blow: Somerset House Review

I went to Somerset House the other day to see the Isabella Blow: Fashion Galore exhibition and it was amazing. I knew nothing about her before I went, but instantly found her really interesting and loved her strange sense of fashion. Many of the hats she made were inspired by birds and used feathers and weird pointed shapes to look like beaks. My favourite outfit in the whole thing was a bright pink chiffon burkha worn by Blow, designed by Jun Takahashi and patterned with dark green teddy bears with nails through their heads. (Morbid I know).
The Alexander McQueen collection inspired by her: La Dame Bleue was beautiful and so poignant, including the catwalk video of it. Isabella Blow also sourced some very successful models such as Stella Tennant and I'm so happy I went to the exhibition because I never even knew who she was before and yet she was extremely influential to the fashion world.

(skip to the end of the video for the final walk round, where all the most exaggerated outfits are featured and the heavy beating of the neon wings is beautiful)

blue eyebrows evri dai

hello friends, today I went radical and coloured my eyebrows blue because I had too many essays and a pile of art coursework which needed ignoring. The results weren't as radical as I was expecting due to the fact that I have dark hair but I have now realised that as soon as I get out of my super strict school that won't let me dye my hair, I am going all out on my eyebrows. Maybe I'll bleach them and go powder-pink; Ceaser-Flickerman style..
join my in the eyebrow revolution, it's weird and cool and new (to me) and you'll get really weird looks if you decide to go out in public with them. (some stranger called me 'smurf-brows' on the bus today.. I didn't find it very witty tbh)

swim deep oh bby

On Friday me and Rachel headed over to Shepherds Bush O2 to see SWIM DEEP AND WOLF ALICE LIVE with another supporting group called Sundara Karma who were great as well. We met some other people when we got there and then went inside but we were all furiously disappointed because they were not selling the beautiful Swim Deep merch socks which I have been on a quest to find for what seems like an age.
But I had previously bleached those lovely SD waves into the back of my denim jacket which I wore with pride that night.
Anyway all the acts were amazing and although it was one of the most suffocating, squashed and boiling-hot gigs I've ever been to, it was so worth it. We got quite near the front so we could see all of them especially the golden glow of Zachary's glorious hair and they were all perfect and then it rained silver at the finale at the end when they played King City. It was lovely. And then it was over, and we all ran round the building to get to the stage door, where we met (what I mean is we kind of just screamed at them and panicked) ALL OF SWIM DEEP AND WOLF ALICE AND EVERYONE ELSE:
ZACHY AUSTIN HIGGY AND CAV <3 <3 <3
They were all so lovely to us ..especially Higgy (who is my new favourite SD member) who drew Rachel a picture and let us scream at him and take hundreds of pictures. He was very cool with us so muchos gracias to Higgy my fave <3
