summer's here

I am loving summer right now- I've gone swimming in the Hampstead Heath ponds every morning, watched Ghost World for the first time (which made me want to record and draw a lot more), gone on a very successful shopping trip and relaxed in this really strange heatwave that Britain is having. Seriously, I don't understand why it's so hot, it was 5 degrees hotter than Greece yesterday to give you all some perspective #saywhaat

I'm currently working on making a huge playlist for when I go on holiday, and (as you may have already realized) I am a total organizing freak, so I've made lists of everything I'll need to bring with me and buy before because I can't stop myself.

I'm always redoing the pictures on my wall so I took some photos to show what it looks like right now. I love having all my favourite images and leaflets stuck up in one place because I can stare at them from my bed when I wake up. The pictures include several Morrissey/Smiths posters, Submarine themed postcards, polaroids and NME pages. It sums up a lot of my interests and obsessions and it feels like my own personal gallery.

On the weekend, I went to Golbourne Road and Portobello Market because it's so nice there and I hadn't been for ages. Also I wanted to look at one of my favourite buildings: Trellick Tower on Golbourne Road.  It's this huge block of flats designed by this Brutalist architect called Ernő Goldfinger and if you look at it from the front, it looks just like an artwork with all these tiny bicycles and plants on the balconies of each floor, I love it. Also, right next to the building there's this small vintage shop called Rellick that a ton of models and sophisticated people go to thats wayyyy too out of my league in price range.. but everything there is beautiful and one day when I'm extremely rich I'll go there and buy one dress because that's still all i'll be able to afford. It's so insular that you have to actually ring the doorbell and be let in by the shop assistant, which is quite intimidating if you're only little me.

So after that I went to Portobello Market and saw this old yellow bomber jacket with the YAMAHA symbol on the back, and I loved it so much and it was only £17 so I bought it, and I can't wait to wear it when summer finally decides that it's here to stay in England.  
There was also this acid-wash denim jacket with the prettiest sequin circle pattern on the back and I wanted it so badly but I'm trying to save money (although I may be failing at it) so I had to leave it behind.. 

In compensation for not buying it, I am planning to find a cheap old denim jacket somewhere like Camden Market, and then do my own design on the back of it..

my birthday and new clothes

So it was my birthday a few days ago, which was perfect- I went to get chinese food with some friends and then we went home and watched scary movies and ate ice cream. My friend got me this amazing book called: Style Feed, The World's Top Fashion Blogs and it's basically a list of style blogs saying what they post about, how they started, what's so great about them, and what makes a blog unique and popular. I learned a lot about the fashion industry from it and all the pictures in it are so pretty, so that's just a reccomendation for anyone who wants to know a bit more about blogging..

The green tea was also amazing- new favourite drink

One of my other awesome presents was this pair of Liberty/Nike shoes which I've been wanting since forever but never had the money to buy them (as usual). They're so beautiful and comfortable and I can't stop wearing them ahh they're just perfect.

They suit almost all my favourite casual outfits, with jeans and shorts and skirts and okay I'm going to stop raving about these shoes now because I think you get the idea.

On a recent shopping trip I also found some beautiful things.. I normally don't shop at Primark at all, but I went in there and found one of the things that's been on my wishlist for a long time: a hawaiian shirt that actually fits me! It was from the mens' section but whateverrr. Then I got this black bomber jacket from a vintage store in Camden which I'm officially in love with because I can wear it in summer, as it's very thin material. Also, in Urban Outfitters, my favourite shop, I got this pretty, holographic purse which holds my phone and all my cards and stuff for only £5. So all in all I'm very happy this week.



Sorry if my posts become less frequent but school started today and that means exams soon and that means stress and extra work and eughh no I don't want to think about it.
