Same As It Ever Was

A series of strange dreams last night:

* Dream 1 *
I was in an artist studio, sitting at a chair with an easel in front of me. In the middle of the circle of empty chairs was a raised stool. Morrissey was sitting on it, weeping and in between sobs he was quoting his own song lyrics from How Soon Is Now and First Of The Gang to Die. I drew him with pink pencils.

* Dream 2 *
I was walking along a pier that jutted out into a small lake, and there were lots of boats tied up. Each fishing boat had a glass dome over the roof which was filled with jungle plants and trees. When I reached the end of the pier it turned into a flight of steps to a greenhouse that had little waterfalls and strange sculptures inside.

* Dream 3 *
I was walking through the park by my house alone late at night, and as I looked up at the orange streetlight, the orange in my vision sort of seeped into everything. I tripped on the pavement and as my sight was jolted, all the blue from the night sky and the shadows dripped and smudged down over what I could see and faded away.

STELLA ARTOIS x BLUE NUDES
(Project I'm working on)

Above journal pages from the last month or two, not getting much done because art projects and college and I'm sleepy. Watched some music documentaries recently: Pulp and the Smiths, both of which were so great and enhanced my love for Morrissey and Jarvis Cocker.

IM  ALSO SEEING MY FAVOURITE MAN EVER MAC DEMARCO IN LIKE A WEEK WHICH IS GNA BE SO GOOD <3

For Halloween, I dressed up as Yolandi Vi$$er from Die Antwoord avec mon ami (DIY zef tracksuits yh yh) and went to a church and did Halloween things xoxo

I don't have much to say apart from the fact that PEACE ARE FINALLY RELEASING A NEW ALBUM soon which is going to be the best thing ever ~~~
I listen to Fur, the B-side of my Lost On Me vinyl every night and it's in my opinion one of Harrison Koisser's best new songs so I can't wait to see them again (for the 7th time!!!) and I hope they play it <333

I have also been listening to...
Syro // Aphex Twin
A Different Class // Pulp
Seniors // HALA
You're Dead! // Flying Lotus

Goodnight.

Margot Tenenbaum 4 lyfe

Ok here's a post about Margot Tenenbaum because she is the bomb dot com. Her distinct style and sultry personality is perfect and she is definitely in my top 10 Wes Anderson film characters #foshaw. She has a wooden finger, wears a fur coat and tennis dresses, secretly smokes and can turn on the TV with her toes. What more could you look for in a person.
If you haven't seen 'The Royal Tenenbaums', the film in which she appears, I highly recommend it -srsly guys it's my favourite Wes Anderson film, even better than Moonrise Kingdom or The Life Aquatic.
Margot is adopted and writes plays about her family, The Tenenbaums, and she is played by Gwenyth Paltrow. What more can I say PLEASE watch The Royal Tenenbaums. For your own good.

On another note, I just bought Morrissey's autobiography and I'm super excited to read it once I've finished Lolita.
I'm on half term finally so now I can actually scan in all my disposables of Swim Deep, Summer holidays and the camping and seaside trips I've been on.

There's so many groovy things to do

All you Americans will probably faint when I tell you that the British aren't really 'into' Halloween. I mean we have all that orange and purple plastic filling up our supermarkets as soon as September is even on the horizon and most young children do go out trick-or-treating, but you don't get the same buzz as the USA does, and in my case, the area I live in makes little-to-no effort to give out sweets on the 31st.
But the best thing about it is the costumes so here are some characters I am considering dressing up as for Halloween:

DARIA MORGANDORFFER

(see middle) If you aren't already aware of this amazing 90s high school cartoon made by MTV, you won't know how brilliant Daria is, but Daria Morgandorffer is hilarious and me and my friend Rachel are thinking of being Daria and Jane for Halloween seeing as they are such a fabulous duo.

WEDNESDAY ADDAMS

The coolest of the cool, Wednesday has always been my favourite film character ever since I saw the Addams Family film when I was little. Alexa Chung's book: It, devotes a page to her whole look and she's fabulous so I will for sure dress up as Wednesday this Halloween.

DAPHNE BLAKE

The cartoon version, obviously. Daphne Blake from Scooby Doo will always be in my mind when I think about a Halloween costume. There are so many groovy things to do <3 <3 <3

MOONRISE KINGDOM

THE cutest Wes Anderson film to date, with the most beautiful aesthetic- wear an old scout uniform or a pink or yellow 1940s dress with knee socks. I really want to dress up as one of the characters from this film but my depleted wardrobe stops me </3
