Butterscotch Sundae

I saw The Double (directed by Richard Ayoade) yesterday and it was really good: Richard Ayoade is sucha babe and Submarine (his debut) is my all time favourite film, so The Double had a lot to live up to. It wasn't quite as good, but the cinematography was so fab and the cast was spot on.

I've spent the past week watching a ton of films, drinking tea, not leaving the house and listening to The Velvet Underground on repeat so idek what state that has left me in..
I have exams very very soon so everything is becoming very stressful, but I found some time to draw, so my art coursework is all finished and I can do my own drawings so here are some scans too..

The talented Amber took some fab photos of me in Regents Park a few weeks ago, inspired by Margot Tenenbaum (Royal Tenenbaums)("I'll have a butterscotch sundae I guess..") which was super cute and Springy, because it was lovely and sunny and we walked through daffodils and talked about summer.. it was a splendid affair
Here's one (and you can see the others here)

Some Candy Talking

Yesterday I got send my copy of Wes Anderzine, a fab zine devoted to art and writing inspired by Wes Anderson's films. I contributed a lil drawing to it which is super exciting as well?!
On the subject of Wes, I saw The Grand Budapest Hotel a week ago and it was absolutely top notch, Ralph Fiennes was an total darling, a brilliant new addition to the Anderson family. It was one of Wes' most aesthetically beautiful films so far in my opinion, particularly because of the pastel pink of the Mendl's packaging and hotel walls, and the lovely shots of the dark blue hotel at night with the little yellow windows.

I met up with Dani in half term too, which was super cute - we wandered around Brick Lane and Shoreditch, ate bagels and chewed bubble gum. I got some disposables developed too, from Christmas and New Year.

Witching Hour

As the long nights go on, I repeatedly find myself wearing black clothing, matched with my witch sandals or platform black boots, to match my mood. No, I don't watch American Horror Story, but from tumblr I can deduce that they all wear some fab flowing witchy garments that I would love to own. I am merely trying to replicate the 'Quinn the Brain' Daria episode, because I'm so deep and intellectual. (pls understand my sarcasm here.)
Think Meadham Kirchhoff AW13 and The Addams Family.
Oh Wednesday if only I had a peter-pan-collar-dress like you do <3 babe <3
I also really like the new Cheap Monday 'New Doom' collection thing that was shown at the Copenhagen Fashion Week, but that might be because I have a proper crush on Margot Tenenbaum and the collection has a very winter-y vibe.
Sorry, my brain is a bit dead after a dreadful start of the week at school so I'm not sure I can properly form comprehendable sentences right now..

I am wearing an anarchy top made by some art student in the 80s, a Rachel Riley skirt and New Look witch sandals with glittery tights and my cross necklace.

Oh Quinn, as Head of the Fashion Club, I commend you. <3

Margot Tenenbaum 4 lyfe

Ok here's a post about Margot Tenenbaum because she is the bomb dot com. Her distinct style and sultry personality is perfect and she is definitely in my top 10 Wes Anderson film characters #foshaw. She has a wooden finger, wears a fur coat and tennis dresses, secretly smokes and can turn on the TV with her toes. What more could you look for in a person.
If you haven't seen 'The Royal Tenenbaums', the film in which she appears, I highly recommend it -srsly guys it's my favourite Wes Anderson film, even better than Moonrise Kingdom or The Life Aquatic.
Margot is adopted and writes plays about her family, The Tenenbaums, and she is played by Gwenyth Paltrow. What more can I say PLEASE watch The Royal Tenenbaums. For your own good.

On another note, I just bought Morrissey's autobiography and I'm super excited to read it once I've finished Lolita.
I'm on half term finally so now I can actually scan in all my disposables of Swim Deep, Summer holidays and the camping and seaside trips I've been on.
