Short post today just on my all-blue outfit of the day. It is the last day of the holidays so I'm devoting the day to just crying in my room and trying to ignore the pile of homework in the corner. Well thanks for reading, and hope you've all enjoyed the holidays..(please ignore my embarrassing poses, and my dog)

bedroom inspiration

So due to my lack of creativity and imagination, I failed to think of a good idea for something to blog about, so here it is, you are being presented with my bedroom. Sorry. Because of all my school work and stuff and the fact I never leave it, it is a total mess. Therefore I have tried to photograph small parts of it that may give you an idea of what it's like. The wall collage is one of my favourite things because it permits me to gaze into Morrissey and Sky Ferreira's faces every time I wake up. So here it is..

Everyone has a dream bedroom, and you've heard me raving about Submarine in one of my last posts.. Oliver Tate, the protagonist of the film's room, happens to be perfect. His type-writer, the clouds painted on his wall, the postcards and posters plastered all over the walls and the attic slanted ceiling all made me fall in love with it. If anyone else has a dream room based on some movie/book/theme comment on this post?

And now because you're all definitely sick of hearing me talk about Submarine, here's more of my room inspiration:

Now that I've actually written it all down, I realize that most of my favourite bedrooms are from 80s movies.. Anyway, sorry for the picture-heavy post, I'll try to do more fashion/writing next time. 

beside the sea

Wow ok so I was on the internet, wasting my life away as usual, when I saw this photo on Tavi Gevinson's blog: The Style Rookie (which is so perfect that it's basically the reason I was inspired to start blogging, by the way) which was taken by some guy called Luigi Ghirri and I thought all his photos were pretty cool so now I'm sharing them with you.. My favorites are mostly on beaches and by the sea and I thought his style was quite like the film Submarine (2010) which is my all time favourite film so you understand why I like these photos now right? 

They're all so cheerful and summery and like surreal postcards, I'm definitely going to be sticking these all over my room, in anticipation for summer.

I also recommend everyone watches Submarine, hopefully these photo's might persuade you? If you like the sea, duffle coats, comedy, pyromania, Wales and high school drama then go watch it.

the smiths and prozac nation

So this April, after reading Prozac Nation by Elizabeth Wurtzel, I've been listening to Nirvana and The Smiths a lot and feeling that whole vibe (don't hate me for using the word 'vibe'?).. I mean that kindof 80s grungey, melancholy style that goes with old bunches of flowers and denim jackets with scuffed black matte Doc Martens and Velvet Underground vinyls with a bit of angst, and Ian Curtis from Joy Division's voice singing in the background.. Like that photo shoot of The Smiths walking round those abandoned gas works with Morrissey holding a handful of daffodils? It's hard to explain.. But I hope these photos sort of sum it up?

first post and minimalistic fashion

First Blog Post is exciting, hello everyone..
Outfit of the Day: Black and White
I am in love with the 'minimalistic all-in-black or white or both' look, (without it looking really boring) at the moment. I'm mainly talking about the beautiful outfits on fashion designer's catwalks like the ones for Valentino S/S12, but today I tried to mimic it using the humble clothes from my not-so-lovely wardrobe, seeing as I'm not incredibly rich and can't buy clothes because I'm broke *sighh*. So here goes:

What I'm Wearing: silver stud ear rings, gold chain from a car boot sale, vintage black bomber jacket, original BOY London vest, Topshop Leigh black jeans, black H&M platform gym shoes.

If I was Daphne Groeneveld some other effortlessly stylish, sophisticated person I'd bleach my hair white and hopefully replicate the feeling of these photos I found on tumblr *i wish*:

But it's basically the pale, minimalistic, modern look that I love at the moment..This is beginning to sound pretentious. Oh god.

Also, I feel this whole look goes well with the new Crystal Castles Album: (III) which is perfect, and although Alice Glass might be a lot more grungey and mad compared to this composed look, she is one of the loves of my life and this new album is perfect, so here it is:
