lolita

Copying Lolita's hair in the 1997 film- I watched it a few days ago, and I never knew Jeremy Irons was one of the main characters in it, he does all the acting and narrating the text really well.. He does a good 'Im-being-internally-tortured' face. Anyway, I loved the old 1981 Brideshead Revisited series with him in it as Charles Ryder. (the book 'Brideshead Revisited' is also one of my favourites)
Now that I've watched the film, I also sort-of want to read Lolita but what with exams and revision I can't even consider anything right now. Maybe in summer when the holidays start..

Okay short story-I was in Hampstead Heath once (in London) walking my dog, when I walked past this really angry looking man in full tweed and riding boots with a huge moustache and a tweed hat and it took me a full minute to realise it was Jeremy Irons so I was so amazed that I ran all the way back up the path he was on and just stopped right in front of him and almost fell over.. and then he just stared back at me and frowned even more, so I just apologized and backed away. But it was so exciting although I feel like he hated me for no reason.

this week: clothes and collage

Okay I finally got round to actually taking a photo of my clothes from the thrift shop a few weeks ago, so here they are (and look at my beautiful Meat is Murder t-shirt):
The Fur Coat

 The Pleat Skirt
Please excuse my great number of selfies, I got carried away..
And I bought Girl, Interrupted on DVD so now I can watch it whenever I want which is so perfect, Winona Ryder I love you. #perfecthumanbeing
Im happy because NME magazine came and it had a free Vaccines CD which is perfect so yesterday I played that and the Peace- In Love CD and sat on my bed all day.I also went to the park and walked my dog and picked daisies to make a daisy chain which is in my book now. I've also been doing a ton of collaging/art to fill up all my unused notebooks, so I piled up anything I could use, and I will spend today listening to Vampire Weekend and the Lost in Translation movie soundtrack, and drawing. I'll post some of my doodles soon because all my posts are going to be a bit rushed in the next few weeks due to exams..

Speaking of daisies, who's excited about the new Gatsby film? I AM GOING TONIGHT OH MY GOD I CAN'T WAIT.
But I think personally, Carey Mulligan isn't bitchy enough to play Daisy, she's too kind hearted, but Leo will be brilliant ohmigod wow.

Dakota crushing

I am in love with Dakota Gordon's photography at the moment, I wish I could take photos like her, there's just something about them, maybe the colour or general effect of the photo, almost like one from a disposable camera, that makes me want to go to Australia and just take photos all day until I can produce work like her's.. They just have so much personality and carelessness and coolness, if that's a word. She chooses such perfect things to photograph too, the fashion and places and everything about them asdhjsjkadls I'm spiralling into random complements now that are boring to read sorry.. anyway I also thought this song complements the photos so listen and scroll:

Good luck with exams for everyone who has them, Bye x

american high school romantisized

So school is all I think about right now because of exams and IM SORRY, I KNOW THAT NONE OF YOU WANT TO HEAR ABOUT THEM. SO I'LL STOP. And because of school taking up so much of my time, I decided to do a post about American High School, and the 80s. Because I live in England, and the only view I have ever had of American high schools is through movies, and I imagine it in a permanent state of summer. I may be completely wrong, but I think it would be pretty cool going to school there. Im going to completely stereotype American schools right now, but I think it would be awesome to go to the prom and watch massive baseball games, like living in a real life version of Grease or Clueless. And we can all admit we've all dreamed of being a cheerleader at least once. God I think I might be sounding really naive right now.. Maybe Im saying the equivalent of what American people think about stereotype English schools: permanently raining, all the girls go to boarding school and play lacrosse and netball like in Wild Child, and speak in polite British accents and drink tea all day. Well I am all in favour of breaking out the pleat-skirts and finding a real vintage letterman jacket. Anyway here are some photos:

Brian is my favourite person ever.

donnie darko

One of the main reasons for my blog's name 'Where's Frank' is because Donnie Darko is one of my favourite films, and the 6ft tall imaginary rabbit that talks to Donnie in this film is called Frank. Apart from the ending, which I think even the producers and director of this film were confused about, it is such a perfect film. It also has some brilliant one-liners and is very quotable.
(On the more philosophical, deeper side of the movie, one of the best quotes is "If the sky were to suddenly open up, there would be no law, there would be no rule. There would only be you and your memories.")
I reckon IMDB has summed it up better than I could so here's what its about:
'A troubled teenager is plagued by visions of a large rabbit that manipulates him to commit a series of crimes, after narrowly escaping a bizarre accident.'
Seems about right.
Two of my friends told me I looked like Gretchen Ross, Donnie's girlfriend in the movie, which was such a perfect compliment because she's beautiful (in my opinion) so yeah, basically this film comes shortly after Submarine in my top films list
(comment below if you think I should do a top 10 film list)

This is my failed attempt to draw Frank: 28 days, 6 hours, 42 minutes and 12 seconds, that's when the world will end:

They're both so good looking its so unfairrr
